Also, I have a horrible squeak that makes me want to light this thing on fire. The squeak randomly starts on its own and the only way to stop is to touch the brakes. The slightest touch of the brakes, just enough to get the lights to come on, stops the squeak. As soon as I let off the brakes the squeak comes back. The squeak also speeds up as I accelerate. I've also figured out that the squeak does not occur when I turn left. But when I turn right it squeaks even louder and stronger. Brake related? Fronts? Best way to fix it?
Check your charcoal canister and fuel rail for the gas smell. I had that issue a while ago, hose came off the canister.

Alrighty, so my only option really is new headers? That sucks lol. I've never had this squeaking but alright I'll go ahead and get new front brakes. I swear there was plenty of pad left when I checked a month ago or so.

When I get my spartan installed in my front Dana 30 what gear oil do I use? And can I use a thicker type so it'll quiet down the tick on turns?

Okay so I got a 00' cherokee but had a bad block, but the head was good, so I had a 89' block that I used and put the 00' head onto it. Engine is in and everything is connected right. Go to turn over the key get to rotations and then it sounds like it's almost about to die. Strapped jumper cables to it but still has the same problem. I'm using the starter out of the 00' jeep and it sounds like it doesn't have enough to push it on over. Do I need a bigger starter?

Well it still rotates the motor just won't give it that final push, didn't know if since I was using two different types of engine generations (renix and high output) that there would be a higher combustion

Put a different battery in it.

Do you have a picture of your Jeep so I know we're on the same page?

I believe your best bet will be contacting the local dealer for the info or perhaps the diesel info is in the Chilton's manual I have at home. I'll take a look.

I'm just not familiar with the diesel engines. I've never seen one in person.

Portugal doesn't have Jeep forums?

No problem. I'll look in my repair manual in a little while and see if I can find anything for you.

Default Dana 44 price

Found a dana 44 in the back of an 87 xj today at a local junkyard. Guy said he wanted $275 for the whole rear end. I'm curious if this is a good price and if its not then what should a rear end like this go for?
