Ok so I have an odd sound coming from my jeep. The front passenger tire makes a kind of wobbling sound and I feel a shudder in my steering when I drive. Not death wobble bad but still a worry in my mind. I just don't want the wheel to fall off, do you guys think its the u joint?

How common is it to break the valve cover bolts on the 4.0? I was torquing them to spec and snapped two of them. One completely in half and had to use the ez-out bit to get it out. The other one did not break completely in two.

Are you sure your torque wrench was set to INCH pounds?

Yeap. 55 foot pounds. DOOOOH!!!!!! Well hell there's your problem right there. Haynes says 55 inch pounds. My wrench is in foot pounds. At least it was not a very expensive lesson. I am headed to the stealership Monday to get OEM replacements anyway, so I guess I will get all new bolts and compression grommets and replace them all.

Oh, and buy an inch pound torque wrench.

The original bolts are probably worn out from all the heating and cooling. I would get a whole set.
