So I have this loud roaring at highway speeds 65+ I have replaced the tires, Tue wheels, front hub bearings, and still having this issue. Someone told me to put a higher viscosity gear oil in the transfer case. Could this be it? If that's not it I am going to replace and the universal joints. What's you're input?

I am sorry if this is not in the right place. I am new to owning a Jeep. I recently purchased a 1998 Jeep Cherokee. When I purchase did I knew that it had no compression on the number one cylinder. Long story short I ended up being a valve spring $5.29
Cost me a little bit over $200 to have the work done. after it was fixed I drove it for about a week and then it overheated. I had it towed to a local shop and the mechanic found there was no compression again on the number one cylinder. at that time we removed the head had it tested cleaned and found no cracks. Although we did find water pump had no cups left on the fins. So I had the mechanic to replace the water pump install new head gasket after the head was planed. When I went to get the Jeep it ran fine although my oil pressure was near 10 and less after driving when at an idle. Drink some more down and put some Lucas brothers oil treatment in. That was last Tuesday by Friday I was occasionally having hiccup when first taking off from a start. It would just happen randomly not constantly so I decided to put seafoam in my fuel tank I added the whole can of seafoam into about a quarter of a tank of gas within 20 minutes the check engine light came on all my gauges were normal I was not overheating I was not having any problems except a rough idle. So I had it put on the computer to tell me what the code said according to the computer code I was having a misfire on cylinder number one. I switch the plugs between number 1 and number 2 in ran the Jeep some more again the check engine light came on so then I switched the plug wires between number 1 and number 6 to make sure it wasn't a plug wire. And you guessed it again the computer code said misfire cylinder number one so now I have ruled out plugs and plug wires I've just had the head off of that motor twice inspected by two different mechanics who have both should meet did the motor is fine inside there was no damage to any cylinders nor any pistons. Went down to the local autozone store where the clerk tells me that I either have a problem with compression in that cylinder or is a fuel injector. The Jeep runs fine if I'm driving 60 to 80 miles an hour runs like a new motor. I have no water in my oil I have no loss of coolant I have no steam at my exhaust and the motor runs fine as long as it's not an idle. So my question is could be symptoms be a result of a clogged on IAC?
If anybody has any suggestions I would really appreciate it I being a new Jeep owner and getting quite tired of forking over money daily without any result. I just want to fix the damn thing so please help

Captn01, you have an inline six (I6) motor which has the pistons in a row. Cherokees stopped using a V6 in '87. As for the transmission question, I'm not your guy. Sorry.
Lol Not gonna get chased off, I actually have a good excuse for my error, didn't have any coffee this morning and my brain was rather foggy .

Yes it was warm and idling in neutral, it was right after I had gotten home. Haven't had any other electrical problems since..

Not too familiar with the workings of these automagic things but since they're really hydraulic fluid is very important. Drain & fill with some fresh Dexron III or D/M Compatible fluid.
The transmission fluid probably could go for a change, that is something I was planning on this weekend but wanted to see if there was anything I should do as well. It was a reddish brown, if I remember correctly, bout to go on lunch and will check again.

You'll definitely want to start your own thread. First step is a compression test, we can go from there.
Ignore lowrange, he's got 2.72:1 grumpiness compared to the rest of us. You really should try multiple paragraphs and some editing though. I had to read several sentences twice. Everyone here is volunteering on their own time. Make your stuff easy to read or noone will read it
