I'm looking to do some cooling system upgrades to my 00 xj. I've read a zj fan clutch is a good upgrade. Is this a straight bolt on swap and can I keep the stock fan shroud? I'm going to flush the coolant and swap in a 195 stat as well.

I just figured if I'm going to get a new clutch I might as well be upgrading it. Any insight would be appreciated thanks guys.

Noisy as in pushes a lot of air noisy? I assume it's a direct bolt in swap? And do you know if I can keep my fan shroud?

Thanks for the insight. I'll give it a shot and see how it is.. My thinking is noisy=a lot air pushing=good cooling.. Which is what I'm looking for. When you say it's noisy it makes me think of like an 18wheeler in those first few gears. You really hear the fan pushing big air. Haha

I didn't notice a noise difference with my ZJ clutch. My Jeep isn't quiet, though.

Yes. It's all relative.

On my MJ which is nearly stock, it drove me nuts. Reminded me of my days at Datsun when the clutch fans would fail in the "always on" mode.

Default help me i have major problems with my jeep

I purchased a new 2012 jeep cherokee in november and have currently put 9000 km on it it is a v6 laredo very niced vehicle but i have an on going issue where randomly when i brake hard the engine dies and there is no check engine light so you put it in park push start and can go again. i have had it at the dealer avery week for the last 2 months and they have no idea whats wrong. so innicially when it did this first i took it in cause i could make it happen every time i stopped. so they flashed the computer and it seemed to go away. then 3 weeks down the road it happened again and now it is intermitent and will only happen occasionally probably once a week maybe once every 2 weeks.now flash forward 4 months we have a tattle tale computer plugged in reading and recording our sensors and they have replaced the torque converter checked the braking system for a vaccume issue and changed the cam and crank sensor and now are considering the valve body in the transmission. help me i am fed up and there is no lemon law in canada.... chrysler has been little to no help i call them and get less answers than i get from my dealership they tell me to be patient they will figure it out.... how can i be patient when my wife has to drive an unsafe vehicle that stalls randomly when you brake

I'd be filing a law suit. Here, they'd give you a brand new one with issues like that. Insist they replace it with a good one... They can sell it to someone else.

This. Get rid of that thing before it hurts someone. Random guess here but it sounds like it's either not being able to rev down or its revving down to fast causing it to stall. Most people here are not goin to be able to help you due to we drive older jeeps, pre 2001. And have limited knowledge of newer GC's.

I'd give them an ultimatum, either they fix it within a certain time frame or they get you another vehicle. Their choice.

Just my .02

If your dealer won't fix that obvious defect under warranty, you need to get in touch with these people beforw lawyering up:

http://www.camvap.ca/

Also a 2012 Grand Cherokee is 4 models removed from the Cherokee. You'll find technical help in the Grand Cherokee section.

(XJ Cherokee -> ZJ Grand -> WJ Grand -> WK Grand -> WK2 Grand)

And stop driving that before someonr gets hurt
