Jeep randomly sputtered to a stop while driving. Has gas in it. Cranks but won't turn over. Electrical system is fine. Ways to check fuel pump?

'87-90. If you have an '87-90, you have a Renix.

(Not Remix. It's a portmanteau of Renault and Bendix)

There's no fuel pump fuse under the hood. Only the relay. Swapped it with another one and it didn't start.

I checked the Schrader valve and gas kept coming out of it. I'll have to mess with it tomorrow when I get some more time.

Guess I'll bang on the tank and listen for the fuel pump.

If its got pressure its not pump unless its not enough pressure....check coil wire on distributor...or unhook map sensor on throttle body....unhook sensors one at time...it may fire how I figured out temp sensor on my astro

Stick your finger on the probe on the dizzy cap and turn it over.

Or just pull the wires and grab a spare plug and turn it ovee and watch for spark.
