Default Track Bar

Hay all

I am putting a 3" lift on and I was thinking about replacing my Track Bar and Tie Rods. I am a little worried about the stock ones being weak and old.

So, do I need to replace my track bar with a 3" lift?

I have found a Rubicon Express track bar (re1600) for sale that has never been installed and I am thinking it is close to the stock ones price. Also he is selling a bracket (re1665) for 3.0" to 4.5" lift.

Is this Track Bar a good one?

Yes replace it.

You need that bracket for the 1660 track bar.

So a bracket would not be used for a 3" lift? Or the bracket is the wrong one for the 1600 track bar and I need to get the right one?

You use the stock track bar bracket for the 1600 with the heim joint.

The 1665 bracket is used on the 1660 track bar.

Kewl thanks. Not sure why he is selling them as a pair then. Even together they are still cheaper then the bar alone.

I've read more "horror stories" about fat mat than I've read praise for it. Lol. Appearently that stuff is more akin to roofing tar with tin foil on the back. Its not at all like dynamat.

Thanks you kind sir. I'm sorry you may have fuel pump issues. Let me know how that goes.

I've got a question for the question thread. I was parked the other day moving car seats around and running the ac,I got back in the xj about ten minutes later to the smell if anti freeze and the shocking sight of 260 on the temp gauge, killed the engine and watched in horror as my overflow jug spewed my entire cooling system into the air as steam. 20 minutes later I put some water from a nearby hose in the radiator and drove the hour and a half to my house, no more overheats. The aux fan isn't coming on, the ac isn't coming on, and both were working prior, I've checked fuses and fuseable links, no obvious issues anywhere. Need some Renix gurus to help. Its an '88 Laredo 4.0
