I've heard a lot of people talking about different tranny problems and I have read the replies but for some reason I have not come across any threads where anyone said that they actually lost third and overdrive. I went and got a new filter and gasket so I can drop my pan and change the filter & fluid while at the same time I was gonna pull the wires off one solenoid at a time & run a wire from my battery and touch the blade contact on each solenoid to see if they "click" so that I can rule out bad solenoids, but today while I was driving around town(keeping it under 40 in second) my speedometer and odometer stopped working then came back on a few hours later when I drove it again. Does this point to speed sensor problem? I see that there are 2 kinds of speed sensors- one with a metal type plunger & the other looks like about 2 or 3 inches long sealed unit type deal with a shaft like a pencil thickness. One is around thirty bucks the other over a hundred bucks. How would one know which"speed sensor" to buy if that's the problem> Havent dropped the pan yet- autozone couldn't find my filter and gasket so I went to napa & it was twice the $$$$ but got it anyway. Any tips? 1997 Cherokee 4.0 aw4 2wd. On sunday I have to work on this so the more info I have, I will have a better chance, thanks everyone. Gotta go to work now but I can't concentrate on anything cause my mind is on my jeep problem. Someone told me jeep stands for ' just empty every pocket'.. Seems to empty my own energy as well.

[QUOTE=salad;2512109]Sure it does lol. Clean the enginr with a degreaser and go looking for leaks. Pinhole leaks in the rad or freeze plugs are common. If you can't find any then it's time for a leakdown test. You're not finding any coolant in your oil right?
lol i just replaced the rad, cap, hoses, and thermostat. and no none in my oil that i can notice, i just changed it so its pretty clear already so would be hard to tell

Anyone use DupliColor Exact Match, specifically Flame Red (PR4)?
What about other brands of factory colors?
I want to fix a few rust spot on the body, roof corner, rear window corner and a couple dings on the body.

I need to cut about 12" off the front of a passenger side unibody rail to patch my damage. I can't get ahold of a battery Sawzall, and they're expensive. Would I be able to cut through there with a hacksaw without too much trouble?
