I've got the engine out of my 98 xj and when I try to roll it out of my garage to wash the engine bay I get a few feet back and my tranny binds and twists a bit. It's in neutral as is the transfer case

Aha! How silly of me. I used my other tester with the point coming out of the screwdriver handle with a light bulb and an alligator clip and was able to figure it out. Thanks for your help!

What is the diameter of the front bump stops on a 98 XJ? I'm looking for replacement bumpstop that aren't rubber.

Question for a fast response please.
1988 Xj 4.0 4x4
About 5-7000 miles ago I replaced my entire fuel sending unit it the tank because the old one was shot.
I drove the jeep about 40 miles earlier today with no issues. I got back in it about 45min after I shut it off and my fuel pump is moaning so loud its droaning in the cab. Its extremely loud inside and I can hear it pretty loud over my chopped exhaust under the body.
Should I just keep driving it and Let it see what happens or replace it. Will this sound go away?

Warning: Long Post Ahead!
I've been having some problems with my 97 (4.0 i-6) overheating lately. It first happened while idling in traffic, the temp gauge was reading completely normal and then jumped up as far it can go over the course of just a few seconds, the "check gauges" light came on, and it sounded the warning tone. Because I was in the center lane of a bridge going into NYC in rush hour traffic I had no option besides put the heater on, roll down the windows, and attempt to keep air flowing over the radiator as best I could. After a few minutes like this, the engine began to sputter and died. I just put on my hazard lights, let the angry NYC drivers deal with it, and once it cooled down it would start again and I drove out to my destination and began investigating.
I discovered that my electric fan had just about disintegrated so I bought a new one from Autozone and dropped it in. I let it idle with the A/C on full blast for a while to make sure the fan stayed on and there was no overheating issue. Everything checked out fine, so I went on with my day.
Earlier today while driving it began to overheat again and suddenly my upper radiator hose blew and I pulled over. I put the hose back onto its fitting, tightened the hose clamp, filled the coolant bottle with water (it was the only thing on-hand) and got back on the road. I was trying to get to a very, very important appointment so I thought I would risk and deal with the issue later. A few miles down the road the hose blew again, I re-attached it and filled the bottle, and prayed I could make it the last few miles. Once I hit traffic it overheated again, the engine sputtered and died, and I was stuck. Because I had to make it to this appointment I called USAA, had them tow my jeep to a dealership and drop me off to pick up my motorcycle. The dealership said they would diagnose the problem for $115 and call me tomorrow.
So the bottom line is, I know I didn't make very smart decisions, and I'm already out $115, but I would like to fix the problem once and for all in my driveway and not give the damn dealership anymore money. What would you recommend I check first, have any of you dealt with this before, and did I destroy my poor poor jeep by being stubborn and pushing on after it began having problems?

i drive a 92 jeep cherokee.. it was recently rebuilt.. i put a stroker in it and it has been awesome... but the last few days it has been running a little hotter than i would like.. i put a new thermostat in.. and that helped.
my question is... every once in a while my AC will make a popping noise.. almost like a gunshot. i was thinking mayne the compressor clutch was going out and the engine is having to work hard to keep the AC working so maybe the two are connected. anyone ever had their ac make a noise like that or know how to fix it?? it has only done it when the car is idling and will stop as soon as i shut the ac off..
