Green puddle means you are giving your jeep to much My Dew.

Since you have a v6, you should remove one head and drive it around, see if it runs better?
I'll start on this tomorrow. Would you mind coming to help me pull one of the heads since it's just right up the road?

Sure. If you leave the hood off, the rain will help add hp.

3.75 for trans with pan removed or drained previously.

2.2 pints in a 231 and 3.0 pints in a 242 transfer case.

I haven't drove the Jeep in a week and when I pull out the driveway and barely step on the brake, it brakes very hard and almost gives you whiplash. But when you drive for a bit it goes away. Why?

Rust builds up on the pads when it sits for a while, and it gets ground off after a short drive. That's likely all it is, and that's nothing to worry about.

Thank you sirs.

Tcase is completely dry (sye install) and trans has been drained and pan removed. I'll get a gallon cuz I think I got some leftover sitting around.

Question.

Is there any reason I should use Valvoline ATF ($1 cheaper at walmart, but a lil further) over parts stores generic atf?

Actually one of the best fluids for a 231 is synthetic 5w30 lol. Rockland Standard Gear noticed that ATF tends to vaporize and get blown out the breather tube. Also the transfer case gets pretty warm without any cooler. If you're not doing frequent changes it seems the way to go.

If you are, then the NP231 will run fine with any ATF on the market.
