Just bought a new A/C compressor, Expansion valve and Receiver/Dryer for my 88' xj. I purchased a bottle of PAG100 8.1oz. I heard I should drain any oil the compressor comes with, then refill to a certain amount.
Does anyone know how much PAG oil I need to put in the compressor?
I heard that I should put 4oz in compressor and somehow put 4oz in the dryer. Is this true? I've always seen it only added to the compressor.
Please respond quickly as I am starting this project this afternoon. Thanks for the help!

Replaced the the cat yesterday since the slip in pipe rusted through and fell off. Used the catco cat and replaced the muffler and tailpipe as well. Took it for a 5 minute ride to check for leaks and it looked good.
Got a check engine light today with the p0138 code for the rear o2 sensor. Crawled under there and the wires are good, fuses are good. Should I just replace the o2 sensor? Any chance the new cat fouled it or the computer just needs to relearn the new cat?
Car is running fine, just have the light and its annoying.

When I swapped out a muffler last time I had to beat it off (lol) the cat. Right after... o2 CEL code. I think it couldn't take the pounding.

As for the oil info I need I found that the compressors needs 5-6 ozs and each other part I replace needs 1-1 1/2ozs.
Do I just pour the oil into one of the lines on the dryer?
Funny, I went to do the same thing. The muffler was and still is rusted to the cat. I went to hit it with a mallet and the other side of the the cat, I suppose the part the connects to the downpipe, just disintegrated, so I bought a cat and just replaced all of it.

As for refrigerant I read somewhere that using a r12 system with r134 it has 90% the capacity of the r12.

AC Compressor
ODGREEN...you're an AC spec? Do you know how to hot wire a compressor on a '98 XJ? Firestone says the internal switch doesn't work so the compressor/drier/accum/fixed orifice pipe have to be replaced. I'd like to make sure it isn't just a bad dash switch first. TIA.
