It probably the same thing that happened to me. The worm gear has little "spline" inside the plastic piece that it grips to move the window. They break. When it first happened to me, I drilled hole in the bracket and secured the worm gear to the bracket with cotter pins. (I followed some write-up I don't have bookmarked anymore)
I drilled hole too big and that eventually broke (pins pulled out). So I found the best one at the JY and put that in. Been fine for the last 2 months.

Took apart my door and took this off the window...sure enough the plastic piece is gone. You woulda thought they woulda made that metal or something....

Do you have some cotter pins? You could make a "mod" for it and if you do it right (unlike me) it might outlast the plastic piece that was there.

but i have a question....when i mash the window button up or down the motor makes a turning noise but nothing moves right now....should the worm screw be turning even though one end isnt in anything?

The motor should be moving the worm gear. It should poke out the end of the plastic tube thing when the window is all the way down.

well my worm gear isnt even in the track.....i dont know how it got this way....the PO or the one before her must have done something to it. Imma go to a jy and see if i cant find the whole motor/regulator track assembly in tact

That's how it's supposed to be. Well, there's sposed to be a plastic tube covering it most of the way.
