Quick question about a 96 Cherokee. Not a huge deal if it gets answered or not, I'm sure I'll figure it out...
Anyone know if I can find the wires for the lights that come on when the doors are open under the dash/what color they are? I unplugged the switch when I went doorless (and they fell inside... PITA to get out) so that there wouldn't be a buzzer while I was driving, but now I want to run a switch so I can turn the lights on manually. I suppose I could take the headliner down and follow the wires back, that way I would have just the light and not the buzzer.
Edit: Uh, so.. I was looking it up and apparently the headlight **** is supposed to control the dome light. Mine never has. Guess that's where I'll look first.

So, for anyone ever considering doing this... either: buy a new headlight switch, or run your own wires to the dome light. There is no way in hell you're going to be able to do anything with the stock harness that goes to the headlight switch, because it's WAY inside of the dash and even if you have really small hands it's just imposssible. I would LOVE for someone to tell me otherwise, because both of those options suck. I would like to have the switch for the lights in the center console, that way if the passenger needs to use the light they can turn it on and I can focus on driving.

I don't want to spend ~$20 plus shipping on a new switch because I'm broke as a joke (quit my job since I'm moving away for college in a couple weeks). I don't really think it's something you can easily fix when it's broken.

Just a simple fix if you have not tried it... Have you ever tried rotating your headlight switch to the left till it clicks? I mean this is the only thing I can think of next to the fuse for the main dome light being bad.

Question: Ran my 2000 XJ perfectly fine this morning for a couple of hours. Got out and killed it for about 10 mins. Then when I fired it back up I had no throttle at all. Laid the pedal to the floor and got practically no response. Couldn't get about 5 MPH until I let of the gas and let it sit for about 30 seconds then it became responsive again. I'm thinking fuel pump, any ideas?

Cruise control on a 1998 or similar
When you press the "Set" button on the bottom left side,
does it click like the other buttons?
Mine does not click like the other controls do
I am not sure if this is the problem.

Something called heat soak. There was a recall to install a heat shield. What happens is the exhaust manifold boils the fuel inside the 3rd injector thus causing a misfire. I had the 0 throttle response as well all caused from the misfire. This all being said if your XJ is misfiring. If it was a fuel pump issue, you would continue to have 0 throttle respomse. Jm2c

Uhh you definitely need the driveshaft. 4WD DS slips onto the back of the transfer case, the length between the two is significantly different.
