Throttle position sensor
Under the fuel pedal or at the top where it bolts to firewall is a throttle position sensor (rheostat) that tells the rest of the system that the fuel pedal is being pushed and how much its being pushed. This is on newer vehicle's that do not have linkage or cables going to throttle body. Throttle by wire, as it starts to fail the first bit of throttle is usually the first to act up. This system started to be introduced on vehicles in 2001 on a larger scale earlier on luxury and bigger vehicles (trucks, heavy equipment, etc).
As the year of vehicle was not there I posed a possible solution to the problem.

100% correct rear brake repair advice
I just happened to be working on my brakes too. Left is Drivers side, Right is Passengers side.
Inside the barrel of the star adjuster it will say L or R.
The Teeth which resemble a saw blade of the adjuster wheel should point outwards if oriented correctly.
The long end of the barrel always goes forward towards the ebrake or the front "primary" brake shoe pointing towards the front of the vehicle.
The short end of the adjuster is towards the rear on the main (thicker lining) secondary brake shoe side.

coolant recovery hose
I am almost done with the closed to open cooling system conversion on my '90 XJ. What type of 1/4" hose can I get that will work to run from the radiator cap neck to the overflow bottle? Is there an auto parts chain that sells something suitable in bulk?

could someone help me figure out why I'm revving to 2k sometimes at startup? It has always idled fine but 1-2 out of 10 times I crank it up it will rev to around 2000rpm for just a second or so. Exhaust leak by chance?

Pretty sure u can just put it in 4 and drive and make turn to either left it right and it should pull and skip a lil...thats how I.can tell in mine anyways....
