Happened for the second time yesterday, so I guess it's time I look into this.
A couple weeks ago, I noticed the GEN light was on when I was driving around, so when I arrived at my place, I shut the engine and when I tried to start it again, it wouldn't even crank. So I figured I might have an issue with my battery, but I disconnected the battery, connected it after a couple minutes and magic, the jeep started without any issues and the light didn't come back.
Basically I thought nothing of it until it happened again yesterday, so before I stay stuck somewhere and the disconnect/connect trick doesn't work, I figured I should find what the problem could be.
Any idea? Thanks!

Recently installed a JCR Transfer case skid plate. The skid wraps under the cherokee and each end of the skid is bolted into the unibody via nutserts. What do you guys think about drilling 3 holes in the floorboard per side so I could loop a nut into the unibody framerail. Once its tight I could simply place a drain plug where I drilled the floorboard holes. Trying to beef up the skid plate mounting.

2000 Jeep fluid on passenger side
Help
I love my jeep. But recently I discovered fluid on the passenger floor. I contacted a repairman and I was told that I needed a heating coil. The heating coil is cheap but the labor is very high, almost 1,500 dollars.
My question, is there something else that I can do or have done to fix this problem? I heard about blend doors that could correct the problem.

Its a great idea. If the holes are just big enough to fit a socket over the nut, you wouldn't loose any strenght.
If in doubt about strenght, a re-enforcement in the form of a big washer with same size hole made out of thin sheet metal can bel tack welded on there but not necessary in my oppinion.

87 jeep not shifting properly after pressure washing?
so i got this jeep from my dad it is a 1987 jeep cherokee with a 93 4.0 l motor... so its not your average jeep to work on. especially because my dad bought it like this and i haven't done the work to it.
i took it to mu work after a night of jeeping and i pressure washed it ... i got underneath the hood, under the frame i used aluminum brightening acid to. looks great but now it does not want to shift. it takes off just fine and when you let off the gas it goes into i think a overdrive like normal, however when i hit the gas to keep my speed up it revs up till it goes into 1st again, if i just drive it shays in first and will not shift... if i really get in the throttle i can get it to shift into a higher gear once i let off but i must have ruined something washing it, any ideas TPS?

Those are just trim packages. Usually its different interior options, different exterior badges, some trim packages feature painted flares.... Country is another trim package, however Up-Country is an offroad package that has a 1in suspension lift and skid plates. Either way, keep an eye out for the cleanest cherokee you can find.

would the tps make the transmission act like that and is there a way to test it... i've been looking the cps and the tps look like they are to a 1987 looking at the parts online for a 93 and 87 ... the 87 is what the cps and tps look like
