i figure this project will only take a few hours right? and like half the cost? and its not extremely difficult.

but then i was also considering upgrading to the ZJ components. i have a stock suspension right now, but plan to put on a 3" lift with 31" tires. i will be doing mild offroading but nothing to drastic.

worth it to do the upgrade?
DW can be cause by alot more than the track bar. Unless your pitman arm is destroyed, its not going to need replacing. Its not a typical part that will wear out. CA bushings and tre's are the number one cause of DW. If the lift you are getting includes all new CA's and a new track bar, wait for that. If not, go ahead and upgrade.

Never just replace, upgrade. But those shop 'guys' sound like they haven't got a clue to me but they might.

hey guys, I have done a very fair amount of searching, trust me its what I do best...thats how I keep a low post count lol. I have a 96 sport 4.0 and I have searched up and down for a schematic that refers to my inside fuse panel. I have only found one pic on google that is the same as mine. It has no diagram or key, that tell me which fuse goes where. My fuse panel is missing a good bit. I would like to know if its at all possible to help a fellow xj'er out if you know any info.

Does it not look like this? It should.

Here's a better diagram to go with the key above.

But definitely upgrade to the heavier duty zj components
for a 1999 xj what year of ZJ components should i buy?

Default How long are OBDI codes stored in ECU ?

1993 xj 4L HO

engine light came on, 4 codes .. how long are codes stored ??

12. Battery or computer recently disconnected
I havnt disconnected battery in a while, 3000+ miles ago.

33. Air conditioning clutch relay circuit open or shorted (may be in the wide-open-throttle cutoff circuit or normal on early 80's models if you don't have air conditioning)
AC system was pulled out on rebuild. no relay in box, has a dummy pulley

41. Alternator field control circuit open or shorted
gonna check wiring today .. test voltage .. probably where engine light is coming from

22. Coolant sensor signal out of range - May have been disconnected to set timing
I disconnected sensor beginning of summer to check aux fan, it worked fine

They only go away if the problem is no longer present after so many key cycles.

i think they know what theyre talking about, i think i misspoke when i said REPLACE the pitman arm, i think they said the joint was going out @ the arm.
but i don't know if they are aware that the lower hole for the track bar gets widened.
is this the most likely problem? because i dont have the tools or experience to fix that part myself....

Any year ZJ with the V8, they ran from 1994-1998. The parts MUST be specced for the V8 option.
