2000 Cherokee, I-6 4.0L, AW-4

I have what I think is a cracked cylinder head. A local shop says they can pressure test it for 45bucks. Is this the test I need to determine a cracked head?

Is it even worth finding out?

Compression Test / Pressure Test - Yes

Absolutely worth finding out. If it is cracked (common on your year), extended use with it like that will lead to crankshaft bearings getting eaten away or worse. Do not wait on this.

Can't really tell where that is (too much glare). But is your jeep running fine? You can try plugging the hole and run the jeep and see if anything starts acting weird. I know thats not the answer your looking for but if you can find out where and what the hose is for then you'll beable to determine what it might have to be hooked to.

Try traceing it back and see where it might go.

Not sure cause of the pic, but I think thats your A/C drain hose. When you have the a/c on for a while and park, you know that puddle of water on the floor it comes from that hose. It's condensation.

I believe from the pic it's under the canister, if its that a/c hose it should not be connected to anything.

Duhhh! Sorry I only had one cup of coffee so far. If it's that darn round ball looking thing, ya it hooks up to something. That provides a vacume for the AC. I dont know if other syestems use it (heater, cruise control???) but I do know the AC does.

The hose from that ball runs to this (passenger fender);

and this;

actually to a valve at the back of this (fire wall). I hope this help more than my first post...LOL (I have my second cup of coffee now).

It is the breather tube for the purge canister. It's ok.

I have a pair of used rusty 6.5 inch leaf packs and one of the leafs fans out when I pick it up should I get new clamps or will they be ok with the weight of the jeep on them?

But my MAP sensor starting acting up today and I bought a new one to put in, cause the shop wanted to charge 175 for it and labor..figured it can't be to hard to do myself...but to make me feel better has anyone changed one and how hard is it? I gotta 96 to if that means anything...thanks in advance

i know, i'm my own worst enemy lol

you sure it was the actual sensor? a lot of times it's the vacuum hose

...but i digress

Just unplug the electrical connector and vacuum hose, unbolt the bracket, swap the bracket if needed, rebolt it to the firewall, plug everything back in.
