I suggest unplugging EVERY electrical connection in the engine bay you can find, whether engine related or not, and spraying it out with a good electronics cleaner, visually inspecting the terminals making sure they haven’t retracted into the plastic holder, and then plugging it back together. There’s a critical 10-pin connector for the front lighting system located in front of the air cleaner and behind the left headlight assembly. Don’t miss that one. Also be sure that the connectors to the ballast resistor mounted near the air cleaner housing are clean and tight.
ALL of the relays should be removed, the terminals wire-brushed until shiny, and the receptacles sprayed out with contact cleaner. Then plug them back in. I do this on every Renix Jeep I purchase or work on for someone else.

BD44K Fuel Additive and gas smell?
1994 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 with 169,321 miles on it. PO suggested that I clean the injectors as they were never cleaned. It has been reasonably maintained and I doing some very stuff to make it a daily driver. I got some BD44K and added it at the last fill-up but lately have notice a gas smell at the rear of the vehicle since I added it; more of a smell by gas cap. I hadn't noticed as smell before but wondering if I should replace gas cap or could it be due to the BD44K? Gas mileage has been okay 14-17 and recently the temperature has been over 100 many days.
Suggestions?

Run the 44K as you have on a full tank down to 1/2 tank. Fill with fuel again and run to 1/8 tank.

So I'm lifting my XJ and doing a rear disk brake conversion. Very glad I have a new axle going in as the shock studs snapped with almost no effort
Anyway My new axle doesn't have the hard brake lines. I tried removing the lines from the axle I'm pulling out with standard wrenches but the nuts just round. Is this what flare wrenches are used for? Should I even expect to be able to get these things off?

Relative term lol. Trying to avoid having to buy the crap necessary for that. At the rate I'm going I could probably get someone else to bend them up though.
I guess I'm most concerned about the rear hard line where it meets the soft line. That **** doesn't look like it wants to go anywhere and the idea of new hard line the whole way back doesn't really appeal to me

It's rather easy. I just replaced ALL my lines. One 25-ft roll of 3/16 brake line, 8 standard 3/16 line nuts, 4 or 5 different ones to connect to proportioning block and master cylinder. All for little less than $35. All purchased from AutoZone. Double flare kit is rentable there as well.

Just happened to me last time I was working on my 91. It stopped before it went all the way through but it wallowed it out. Bent the shackle box.
Mine did the same thing, I did weld on a washer.
