OK I narrowed down what is causing my high idle at start up in the cold. Its the accelerator cable for the gas pedal, the cruise control cable, or the TV cable for the transmission. Something must be causing it to stick because I can pop the hood and push the throttle lever down and it will idle fine.

Can I disconnect the transmission kickdown cable and cruise control cable from the throttle body and just idle the engine to see it that is what's causing the throttle to stick. I don't think the spring on the throttle body cross shaft is the problem. I hope its just the accelerator cable needing replaced.

I agree. Sounds like the throttle cable.

When I ordered the fan clutch I also got a refurbished steering box from an 89 Camaro Z28 with the sports package. Looks like it'll bolt right in. But, searching the forums I couldn't find a writeup for this exactly, just people saying try it.
Anyone know of a writeup for this? Or maybe like the fan clutch it's so easy I don't really need one?
Sorry, never mind. I should just search youtube in the future maybe. This looks good.
