Unless you box that dual filter in and run a snorkle or cowl air setup you will loose performance. It will be pulling in hotter air then the factory air box. Not to many people run those types of filters because on our jeeps they have a negative effect. Don't waste your money, make a homemade cowl induction. It easy cheap and there are a bunch of write ups on it.

Hey guys I was wondering what size, length and weight, pop up campers specifically you all tow with your xjs. I was thinking around 12-14 ish feet and 2000-2500 lbs. I use my xj to tow my atv, 10 feet and 1200lbs. Wondering what the size weight cut off really is. Auto, stock gears, 30 in tires, 2in lift for those on the app. Thanks.

1988 4dr xj

Driver upper door hinge broke the welds and was completely detached from the body a few months back. I had my neighbor weld the hinge back on. What we did was remove the fender, put a wood block under the lip of the door while closed and jacked it up to where it was slightly above the rear door line. He welded the hinge back on the body and released the jack and it settled slightly lower than the rear door line.

My question is- is there a way to adjust the door at the hinge where the 3 start bolts are? The door drags on the latch pin and I have to slam it or close it and push and lift up really hard to close.

I am aware that I need a new door lock, I am trying to make this work for now until I get a chance to get one.

Default Air pump?

I'm driving a 1986 v6 2.8L cherokee, and it has been running a little rough. Rough idle when engine is hot, and it feels underpowered in all gears when I try to accelerate. It "lags" or "chugs" when I put it in gear and start pressing the accelerator. I plan on replacing fuel pump, fuel filter, and carburetor base mount gasket. (replaced carb and all gaskets several years ago, so want to see if just the base gasket will solve problem)

While I'm at it, I'm replacing all of the drivebelts because they need it. When I removed the belt that runs the air pump (honestly, I didn't even know there was an air pump), I turned the wheel on the air pump and noticed it is a little squeaky, and doesn't quite run smoothly in either direction like all the other pulley wheels do. (The air pump is located immediately underneath the alternator, in case it is unclear what I'm referring to).

Does anyone have any experience with a failing air pump on a similar model cherokee? Could this potential air pump problem be the cause of my apparent air/fuel delivery issues?

ok so i have a 98 4.0L jeep cherokee runs really nice except for some to most of the time after the engine has sat for a little and then i start it up, put it in drive and start accelerating i start going fast then it slows down and either i keep my foot on the gas and it starts to jerk and i hear knocking/ something hitting/ making thumping noises down by the gas pedal sort of coming from inside the hood. or i can keep driving it at a low rpm with slow acceleration until it lets me gain full speed of the car. what would cause this any suggestions on he problem. i replaced the distributor cap and the catalytic converter being told to do so and it should fix the problem but to no avail it hasn't, can you give me suggestions how to fix it?

Try the TPS.
I think the noise you're hearing is your tranny's response to a faulty TPS.

Check engine light? Get codes read. Sure does sound like TPS.

I believe my engine was flushed about 40k miles ago. Theres a sticker in the glove box that says it.

Anything I should do to it because of that horrific idea?

Shine a light in the oil filler hole and assess the sludge build-up. Snap a photo and post it up.
