2000 Cherokee, I-6 4.0L (engine is a "93" or "94"), AW-4

I just swaped an engine into my jeep. I went to start it, started very hard (alot of cranking). I let it get up to operating temp then I shut it off and then tried to restart. No start. I have alrady reset the jeep computer. I checked to make sure the ignition coil was on solid. and I checked all connections and that seems fine. My question is; The CPS, I have taken this off and cleaned it up and put it back on, does this normally need to be changed when replaceing an engine? I say this because the engine cranks and cranks but just doesnt catch.

Non posi "open rear" is: Leave one tire on the ground, rotate the other tire with chalk marks on driveshaft & tire. Turn the tire 2 turns and count the turns on driveshaft.

Posi: Same thing just jack both back tires up and only spin the tires one time and count the turns on the driveshaft.

Or..... go to a Dodge/Jeep dealer and get the specs printed off for your Jeep.

That works too.lol As long as his gears are stock and haven't been changed in the past.

Are there "bumper kits" available? like, not a welded up bumper but all the pieces to weld your own together?

My 1990 XJ 4.0L won't start. Battery is near dead, so I have it jumped. It cranks fine, but never catches or sputters.

I just replaced the clutch, put everything back. Could I have knocked something? I'm not sure where the CPS is though. That seems to be the most common failure based on searching this forum.

Also, it has been sitting with the front jacked up for about a month. The gas was very low, but i put a little in before starting.

Thanks in advance.

Default Rear Wiper

I'm surprised my search hasn't come up with anything. My rear wiper has stopped working again. Last time it was the motor assembly itself. I just want to know where the relay is for it so I can chack that out before another trip to the wrecker for another motor.

Thanks, open to any other suggestions as to what it might be.

Sometimes the CPS-to-flywheel gap has too much tolerance to it. This is especially true when not using the original shoulder bolts which tend to position the CPS a little more "precisely". If that's the case, wildspear, then try for a little in/out gap adjusting. One guy I read about, who was using an aftermarket CPS (bad mojo IMO), found that by slotting a bracket hole (or both holes - I don't remember) he was able to dial-in to the "sweet spot" and got his running fine. While that didn't sound like a reliable fix, it should at-least help you determine if that's the ticket for your project.

No. They will not fit.

The cherokee body style changed drastically in 1997. Very little swaps over between the earlier and later years

The only way to tell for sure is to get your build sheet from jeep. Go to their site and send them your VIN# and ask for the sheet. It will tell you there.

Default driver window issues... regulator or motor?

Basically I am no sure what is wrong I pulled my door pannel off and with my wire tester checked and when I use the switch I have power going into the motor so I'm assuming its that, how would you know if your regulator goes out? What might the symptoms be? All my windows roll up/down very slowly including my wiper motors. Thank you
