Maybe.. My personal experience with "as seen on tv" products is that they ain't all they're cracked up to be. Except that Orgreenic frying pan. That thing works GOOD. (I actually got two). But anyway.. Even if it does work, that flex-seal stuff is EXPENSIVE. O.o

You would have to use 2" bamboo or bigger to stop the flex with weight. It is a great building material and will last a long time, but has to be made with bigger pieces to support weight.

I think it will still look tacky though!

You can get the same **** as flex seal from auto parts stores. Its called rubberized undercoating. Same ****, different label. Still not cheap but cheaper.
