If the track bar is bad, it needs replaced. It uses a tie rod end on one end, which is a wear part. I suggest replacing it with a double shear bar if there's one that fits without any lift. I assume you haven't lifted since you have the stock track bar.
(PS- It might be another one of those nights, Canada)

At the very least I would suggest something with a replaceable heim or Johnny joint at the frame end. The stock-TRE style is cast into the rest of the bar
(PS - going to bed soon and I don't think my cat can type yet.)

+1 to all of this. Though apparently IRO discontinued their 0"-3" lift trackbar due to confusion and low order numbers, now it's a one size fits most lifted unit. Not sure if there are any good double-shear trackbars left for stock height.

XJs never had an option for heated seats, did they? I don't think anything with "Cherokee" in the name had them until the '03 WJ.

No I haven't lifted it yet, but I would like to come next summer. Would replacing it with a double shear bar be better than just a replacement track bar?

No it's a pain in the ***. if you don't have a 10-ton press, you use a torch to burn out the rubber and a BFH to pound out the sleeves.

Double shear bars allow for better articulation, have bushings instead of a tie rod end, and use a new bracket instead of slowly wallowing out the hole in the original bracket.

It would be easier to re-cover it with cloth.
