Like cruiser said. Check all fluids but only use 4lo when really needed. 4hi is plenty strong to use for most applications. And a good set of tires too. Now make sure to post pics of those dunes. Would be pretty interesting to see

I have 3 in drop brackets on my front sway bar. 97 4.0 do I have to have these? I was gonna put the skid plate on. But then realized that I can't bc of the brackets.

Build your own brackets if you want to keep the skid on.

So leave the sway bar brackets on and build some more to put the skid on?

Front is dana 30 hi pinion
Rear is either a d35 c clip or a c8.25 27 spline

A D35 in his C8.25?? That's a new one.

The only front axle that came on a '96 was a high pinion Dana 30.

Rear axle unfortunately was a transition year, your Chrysler 8.25 could be either a 27-spline or 29-spline. The only way to know is to take it apart and look. No exterior identification marks.

Try Modified Tech, there are several threads on that subject right now.

Hey not everyone was lucky enough to get a c8.25, and if ya don't know what's in the front ya might not be correct what's in the rear.

I've heard of a dust shield on the pinion yoke that might be tied to whether it's 29 spline or not... not 100% sure though. Mine has it and it's a 96, but I haven't checked whether or not it's a 29 spline since it's a 2wd and it's staying stock.

Does an XJ, a zj and wj all have the same drag link?
The reason I'm asking is I did the grand cherokee TieRod upgrade. I just went ahead and used the drag link from the grand cherokee as well that was in the setup. I believe it was off a zj.
