Did the old and new transmission have the same number of prongs on the switch (2?). Switch should be closed in reverse and if it's open all the time it's bad. Still no tag light either?

Ehh darnit. I may as well still check right? ATF isn't gonna come pouring out if I pull off the slip yoke is it? I really don't know what else to do past that. Any suggestions? I would stab a guess at it being the transmission mount but I had my brother sit in the Jeep and shift between drive and reverse and I could see all of the slack in the output of the transmission. I think I took a video that I could possibly post...
Just for fun I dug up a 1995 FSM. The AW4 disassembly section shows that the splined output shaft sits out past the last seal. Go go gadget greasemonkey

I just bought an 01 Cherokee sport. I just found out about the cyl head issues as well. I noted that the new ride had a new head on it also. I asked the seller about it and he said it was a new head, I looked for the 0331 stamp and the tupi stamp in the locations mentioned in the cracked cyl head thread and there were no markings. Only a small plate that said "mexico" on it with another small plate with random #'s, both on the passenger side center. Does anyone have any experience with this type of head? Do I still need to worry about the cracking happening with the 0331 heads?

Ba10 and ax15 both are two wire switches. I have tried swapping polarity with no go. And still no plate light.

RockAuto.com carries them made by C2C Fabrication, you can also order them directly from http://c2cfabrication.com/. The "inner" is officially called the rocker backing plate
Thank ya

I have a quick question. Can the fan pulley simply be removed and just use a shorter belt? Did a fan conversion and deciding if I should use bolts to replace the pulley studs or simply pull the studs and pulley altogether.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I believe it can but you must use the electric fan conversion kit to keep the motor cool. I removed it on my race jeep as well as every other pulley I could delete. I moved the radiator to the rear behind me and use a big ford crown Vic fan on it and run it constantly.
I'm a fan of this thread, by the way. General automotive question... I have a metallic bearing sound when the engine is running in my GTO. It goes away when the AC is engaged. It's been intermittent for the last 17,000 miles, but sounds like it means to stay this time. Would I need to replace the entire compressor or is there a deprecate clutch on these things? I'll look at it a bit more during the day. I'm trying to save myself $200+ in labor that the shop would probably change.
