I replaced my dying alt. and upgraded to a larger one and I just replaced the serpentine belt. I finally have everything installed again however now it isn't firing up.
It starts to crank but then slowly dies out. It doesn't fire up. I'm going to read through a no start thread here shortly. But if anyone knows something I should run out and check real quick please let me know.

May be looking at an engine swap. I have a '91 w/ 4.0. I have heard that this is a one-off year for electrical and that I may face difficulties swapping. Any ideas if this is true and if so, any solutions? TIA....

The plastic vacuum connector for the transfer case to engage the front Axle is cracked. Only one of the plastic lines snapped right at the connector and I don't think the 4x4 is engaging when I put in 4x4.
I was wondering if I can use some tight fit vacuum line instead of buying a new connector and vacuum harness.
It snapped right at the base of the connector so there's really no repairing it at the connector.

I have a 96 Cherokee Classic 4.0/automatic 2wd. Will a rear axle from a 96 Cherokee 4.0/automatic 4X4 swap over without any modifications? Looking to go from 1 wheel drive to a real 2 wd.

Be sure to grab the same model, it can be from any year XJ. If you don't you will need a new drive shaft to account for the change in pinion length, and 2WD driveshafts aren't that common.
