Ask the Question Thread
Lmao
My opinion, find a YJ or FSJ steering box(fix higher ratio/4mounting holes instead of three) then either a stock pump with a smaller pulley, or a wj pump but be carefull of the wj, on the write ups I've read, one of the inlets/outlets can not get drilled out, it'll make horrendous noise and make it worse on power. It's gonna suck but I'd say do a good search on it, I know I remember reading like 5-7 write ups and threads that made me think that it would be better to just use a stock pump.
Let me know what you do, I don't mind coming over and helping you, I've already done my box(YJ) and the pump also.

I would NOT use that welder for spiders, I wouldn't use anything less than a 220v welder
I bought one when I first started welding... it puts metal together but after you upgrade to a nicer unit you will wish you had just skipped it. Now that I have my mm212 its just completely night and day on quality of machine and welds
This is a good point. All of that little spatter HAS to be removed or you will be replacing bearings or gears.

There is a yellow tube running from either my lights or my radiator to near my firewall on my jeep. I have no idea what it is (used to working on 80s trucks) but I snapped it clean in half replacing my battery. Does anyone know what it is and does? It's got a bunch of 3 way valves on it. Will probably just super glue and tape it tomorrow.

Way too dark out. Will do in the morning if someone hasn't answered by then. It's on the left side. Seems like a really fragile piece that a lot of people would have replaced. There is no fluid or anything running through it, or even wire that I can see. The car is running fine so I'm not concerned that much, but just confused to what it is even for.
I replaced almost every part of my cooling system. Jeep is a 1989 Jeep Cherokee. It had the Closed Cooling system and I am trying to convert it into an open System. I messed up something along the way and now can't quite figure out what's wrong. It still overheats very quickly. T-stat has been replaced 3 times, water pump replaced, fan clutch replaced. Vacuum's are working. Maybe lines are mixed up? Also heater no longer works. Only puts out cold air. Hopefully this Provides some insight for those more knowledgeable in this. I have pictures but not sure how to post them.

So it's important? Pretty sure that's what it is. Will super glue hold it?
Sounds like the tube I hooked the cruise control to in my 2000. Mine is black, but I did think about the fact that it's a relatively brittle piece of thin plastic running around the engine bay. Mine had a plug on it before cruise was installed. Not sure the effects of it missing.

OK. For starters, total newbie. Last and only other 4wd I ever had was a Subaru Brat. (Does that even count?)
Anyhow, tried driving uphill a steep drive in heavy snow. Part way up my '96 Cherokee Classic got stuck. In 4-lo. My son noticed the fronts were spinning, but the rears weren't and I wasn't moving forward. WT?? Is there no lock-up from front to rear?
Thanks,
Tut
