Yes in 4LO and 4HI/4 Part-Time the front and rear are locked together.

It's not possible to disengage the rear axle while still driving the front. If you have an NP242 an out-of-adjustment linkage could leave you in 4 Full Time, but it should be obvious that you're not in 4LO as there's no gear reduction.

I'm going my rear main seal and I bent a seal trying to get it back in the top half, I bought a new one. Can I try using needle nose pliers to feed it in there or would that damage the seal

there is a relay above the headlight switch up under the dash, could be sticking and need cleaning, otherwise could be wiring related

The vacuum line operates cruise control and heater control valve, I'm not sure what else.
The easiest way to fix it is also permanent. Either replace the section with rubber vacuum hose or cut it where it's broken and stick both ends in a piece of hose that fits snug. $1 per foot at NAPA or wherever.

Any of you ever go doorless? the weather where I live is warming up and I wanna take all 4 doors off and just wanted to get an idea of how exactly to do it. I've looked into it some, and the only problem it looks like I'll have is dealing with all the wiring.

What year is your jeep. There's numerous write ups. As long as there is somewhere to store your doors

There's a really good write up on jeep forum for 97+ xjs. There's a good way to do it where its as easy as older jeeps. Just before you take the hinges of, mark the metal good so that when you bolt them on again, everything lines up.

This year im probably gonna go doorless since im buying a house and Will have a garage. I have an 01
