No problem. I've used ATF+4 with excellent results in a 50/50 mix.

Neither head gasket hangs into the bore anyway. They're always back from the bore so they don't burn and create hot spots.

But then again, if you had any REAL experience with engines you would know that.......

Both of the ingredients (acetone, ATF) are nasty and harmful to you. I would not spray it. Drip from a turkey baster maybe.

Like I said, you are right and the engineers are wrong. Carry on.

i run an early head with a late block and a late model gasket and it works just fine. Either gasket would work fine. I'm not sure there is even a difference. The head gasket I bought listed for 87-03. And it's a felpro. The only differences between years at advance were when buying a gasket set because of the different intake/exhaust manifold.

Not an xj, but still a Jeep. 2006 Wrangler X, 4.0, 42rle four speed auto trans. After wheelin one day it will no longer shift into 3rd, or 4th (OD). Threw codes p0700 (pcm communication problem) and p0733 (incorrect 3rd gear ratio). When trying to shift from 2nd to 3rd it will try to engage however will kick back down to 2nd gear. Changed the fluid, filter, and input speed sensor. Little to no metal in the old fluid and no signs of clutch friction material. Now it will shift into 3rd however only on decel, once you give it gas it's right back to 2nd. On decel you have maximum engine vacuum, which would typically decrease line pressure... Pretty weird that the drb3 scanner Im using reads MAP vacuum at 12 (engine at idle), however MAP output voltage correlates with vacuum increase/decrease. Might try swapping the MAP and Output Speed Sensor next. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Aw, did we hit a tender spot? Gonna pick up your toys and go home?

Grow a pair, wouldya? You have no knowledge of the real world engine stuff. Only a ONE THOUSANDTH measurement difference you read on the interwebs. Have you ever held a set of calipers in your hand? How thick is a human hair in thousandths?

Ever take three 4.0s and make them into one? I have. Ever built a Jeep 4.6 stroker? I have. Ever put an HO motor into a Renix after match porting the head and manifolds? I have.

Datsun 3.0 stroker motor? I have. Alfa Romeo 2000 cc motor? I have.
VW 1641 motor? I have. Jeep 401 V8? I have.

How hard would it be to heat up the exhaust downpipe at the dent and pound the dent out?

It would be more worth it to go to AutoZone and grab that downpipe for like 40$. If I remember correctly it doesn't have a factory bend
