I'm looking for a used axles from junk yards. I have a 8.25 and I found a 8.25 with 4.10 gears for $250. Will it be a direct fit?

At any event, I found that the RADIATOR had a leak, no biggie, I've replaced that before so I just bought a cheapo (on a budget) replacement, It will do for the time. At any event, now the temp gauge is going between 180 and 230 degrees. It takes about 2 min for the climb to 230 degrees then it takes like 10 seconds for the drop (I assume the electric fan is kicking on). I did replace the fan clutch as well while I was at it it seemed faulty, so not that, the electric fan is working fine as well. So I drove it about 80 miles on the freeway watching it go up and down up and down... I'm sure this would of given plenty of time for the bubbles to work their way out. So, the question...
What is likely to be causing the temperature fluctuations??
Thanks, Matt
Try a tstat and new radiator cap wouldn't hurt either. Have u flushed coolant system?

I have a bunch of rust at the rocker panels. Driver side is worst that the passenger. On the driver side both inner and outer rocker panels are rusted through (too include the pinch seam). If I cut out the rockers and get some box steel to weld in there that should solve my problem right?

I hear that the pich seam is pretty important so I was just trying to get a handle on this before I start hacking at the rust. I was thinking of box steel from front wheel well the the back wheel well.

U know u could most likely find an 8.8 LS with 4.10's and disk brakes for that price...I wouldn't pay that much for an 8.25 but that's just me...but to answer ur question...yes it should be a direct fit on...if I believe

Is an 8.8 a direct fit? I don't have a welder to do any mods. Only a direct fit

A 8.8 would take some mods(unless you got it off another cherokee).

Found the problem the wires going to the MAP sensor were faulty, reconnected and zip tied and runs like a charm

Thanks for the info! I see with cost of an axel, mounting brackets, and welding it would be at the very least double the cost of a 8.25 with 4.10's

Hey I want to change my oil pressure sending unit. Will oil come flying out when I remove the old one. Engine is cool know.

And this is the part I have. Is this the correct one. I know there are two kinds, a switch and a sending unit, however different stores call them different names. thank you.

Just depends on how much u can get the axle for and the other pieces u need man...but best of luck with whatever u choose...an 8.25 with 4.10s isn't bad at all either...its still a pretty strong axle...
