Steering stabilizers will never ever cause death wobble. Check for warn out tie rods/ends and track bar mounts frame and axle side. Wheel balance problems will cause it too. Google it

#6 is the hottest cylinder in the engine. I would and examine the valves and springs; maybe a lifter is not cooperating anymore. Or maybe you're driving it too hard.

Might I suggest replacing the pushrod? Your language is very confusing.

Those grommets and the links they're used by are eliminated with every swaybar disco set out there.

Are you asking a question? If you're trying to ask "which should I get" I'd look at medium duty. It depends on the brand as each manufacturer has different load ratings as you noticed.

+1

Not sure what an "ss bar" is... The steering stabilizer goes between the axle and the drag link.

OK Jeepers creapers i had me a wrangler once apon a time .... it was like driving a shoe box with nice tires looked great but couldnt fit more then a ham sammich in it. 10 years later .. 1 bmw , 1 F250 , 1 79 camaro , 1 64 skylark , 1 vw Jetta later , 1 yamaha R1 later.... im shopping around for a XJ for me my wife and son + one siberian husky to take out. we are avid hikers / campers and outdoors kinda peeps. ( lots of gear ) + conoe and trying to fit all that in the Jetta doesnt work and id burn in hell for trying to take the 64 into the woods and i sold every other car iv owned ... so i got about 6 months untill i will buy a XJ ( currently workin in afganistan helping our war fighting hero's ) i love the platform , parts are cheap and has more room then a toyota fj 40 ... im a classic car guy i had to look at all options. with all that being said you know what i need to fit and how i work. so now i want to build a rig under 10k that can get me and family out and about in the woods worrie free. a dependable expedition / backpacking SHTF kinda deal . i was thinking a 6 inch long arm lift by rough country and the Or-fab bumpers with winch and a nice roof rack. plus 35" tires and drop the gears and transfer case to my needs..... also a power converter inside the rig for charging GPS / cell phones n stuff kids ipod or what ever. a first aid / first response kit, 10" sub that i got outa my last car with the deck lol , and a roof rack for the conoe or when the kid gets annoying. iv been doing a bit of resurch as i have nothing else to do in AFG in my down time... please let me know ( PM ) what you think or your experiance's is. i like getting stuck in the woods with the family but only when i plan on it ! btw any particular year(s) of XJ's better then any of the others ? also why is rough country so much cheaper then every one else ? any fancy parts i should stay away from ? i orderd the builders guide on amazon . i havnt got it yet but thats my source of information for these XJ next to the internet. and genral mechanics/ knowledge... when i get home im going to buy every thing in a few short days and try and build this thing on my " vacation" the time that it takes me to find a job in america lol i will do a build thread also. Thanks for all the help !

Cruiser,

Jeep chose when it wanted to start up. Replaced the TPS because I had a new one, nothing changed. Tested the CPS and it was bad. Changed it out and all is well. Thanks for the help.

You can build an outstanding Cherokee for $10k if you build smartly instead of throwing money away on the gold plated companies. That said, Rough Country is not one of those elite companies, but I still consider them overpriced even at the bottom end of the market. RC and Rusty's will never get my business because they knowingly sell shoddy parts and they don't respect their customers.

Something to note with the OR-Fab winch bumper (assuming it hasn't changed since I looked a couple years ago) is that the winch plate becomes the leading edge of your front end. I opted not to get it because I didn't like that aspect, but I haven't heard of any actual problems in real-world wheeling. It's just something to consider.

I don't know about your terrain, but 35s are usually enough to take a Cherokee anywhere.

The lowest budget kits I recommend are from Zone Offroad and Iron Rock Offroad. Do your own research on the IRO Critical Path long arm kit because their unique adjustment system is very polarizing. A lot of people don't think it's safe, and I haven't seen it in person.

If you want to spend some serious coin on the best parts, look at Rock Krawler, TnT, and Clayton.

Rock Krawler:
http://www.rockkrawler.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1823
(Look at the last three for the absolute best. Rear coil conversion)

TnT:
http://www.tntcustoms.com/Jeep_Chero...onversion.aspx
(Radius arm rear coil conversion)

Clayton:
http://bit.ly/1izt5tR
(Several rear coil conversion options)

Also keep in mind fender trimming will allow much larger tires with any given amount of lift. It can be done 'tastefully' with minor trimming to open the wheel wells, or it can be taken to the extreme end of the spectrum to fit 37"+ tires with little to no lift. With a 6.5" lift and appropriate axles, cut fenders could easily allow 42s if you wanted to do that. If you choose not to trim at all, your uptravel will be severely limited because the larger aftermarket tires won't fit in the pocket.

For added emphasis, I presume you want something reliable out there in the woods. I wouldn't run tires larger than 33" with your stock axles, and I'd make that 31" if you plan to install lockers. I'm pretty wreckless with my own rig, but I suggest being cautious with your family out there. You will want stronger axles, and that's probably gonna be a significant portion of your budget if you don't have a hookup for cheap labor.
