I'm sure there is a thread on here explaining all this step by step but the vacuums are trial and error. Some can be eliminated. Gunna need a grand cherokee power steering parts. Just goto the search engine in this forum and look it up. It explains in great lengths.

Everyone I found never really explained much on vac lines besides "they had to extend one"

The blinker does not work with the hazards.what is Nss? The bulbs are all ok none of them are blown.

The NSS is the Neutral Safety Switch. Do a search on the write ups. When this starts to go bad it affects the reverse lights and a couple of other issues. As for the blinker. Open the housing and inspect the wiring. If you have a meter, see if you get 12v or any voltage at the socket.

Is the drag link TRE the same part number as the tie rod ones?

Not on stock XJ setup. It is on the ZJ steering. XJ and ZJ drag link, and ZJ tie rod both use ES3096L. Upgrade

The one in the middle with no vacuum hoses is called a fuel rail dampener. Chrysler added this officially for the 2000 model year but my early build '99 had one too

It's basically a rubber diaphragm. All it does is absorb the shockwave in the fluid when an injector closes, an bends so there isn't as much of a drop when one opens. You can look up this concept elsewhere as I don't feel like tapping it out on my phone lol.

Anyway it reduces pressure "flutter". It is the reason that the 2000+ XJs specify 49 +/-1.5 PSI vs the older 49 +/-5 PSI. In theory this gives more even fuel delivery.

I have the ZJ tie rod already. draglink TRE is beyond the repair of greasing it seems. clunking in cold weather bad. might as well just replace it finally. I heard the ZJ drag link is the same as XJ???

Thanks BTW for being awake like us non normal people

Ok I see now. I was looking at Es3095. The 3096 says its for the pitman arm. Would this one fit the stock draglink. you said no?

Ah so it is not a regulator? It make sense now. Mine is a mid-99 (July 99)

Since If it ever went bad, what brand is considered good replacement? Mopar?

ZJ drag link, XJ drag link, and ZJ tie rod use the same P/N. I thought you said you were awake lol

And the ZJ drag link is ALMOST the same as the XJ. It's like half an inch longer according to Moog's specs.

Nope regulator is in the tank since 1997. IMO that's partly why the dampener is required.

As far as I'm aware there's no aftermarket replacement for XJs. According to the FSM and parts book the fuel rail is "non-serviceable" and you're supposed to replace the whole thing. Of course flip it over and there's a lock ring to take it out... If it leaks maybe the JY will have one for you. I think WJs had em too

Maybe on a lowered XJ seems like it'd be fine for a lifted one. Though not worth the extra coin on 3" lift lol XJ has plenty.

Thank you Soo much.. I found an article on how to clean it very helpful..and it makes a lot of sense now everytime I put my Jeep in to park sometimes I have to jam it into park so then I can shut it down that makes a lot of sense
