Sorry I wasn't very clear. Stepping on the break will stop it from accelerating, but the cruise control light stays on until I shut the car off no matter what I do. If I'm set on a cruising speed, braking or holding the coast button is the only way to stop it. The off button won't stop it if it's set

Ok y'all. I need some serious help here. My xj has been giving me the no bus code so I replaced the cps sensor and all was fine until tonight, when I received the no bus code yet again. Upon plugging my scanner in, I received three codes: 1694, 1698, and 1686.
