So as I was driving my jeep yesterday I figured out that my brights dont stay clicked on when you pull back the lever. I decided to hold the lever back to keep the brights on and about 20 seconds later my lights flickered a little and my rpm gauge dropped to nothing as well as my speedometer yet the vehicle was still driving like normal other than that. I know it deff sounds like and electrical issuse but how does a possible broken brights latch cause a short or whatever of that nature? Has this happened to anyone else?

Start a new dedicated thread about it, maybe someone else has some input i'm not sure what it could be.

Firstly check your transmission fluid level (hot, engine running)

In my 2000 xj the brights stay on by pushing the handle forward. To do a quick flick of the brights I pull it backward. You probably a short in the wiring in the steering column.

Lol maybe it is push forward!!! I just figured it was pull back like all the other vehicles I have driven.

Hey you ever get your engine noise figured out?

No I'm still trying to address the noise issue. It's definitely alternator noise. I've replaced my battery terminals, made better ground to the mount now only having 0.5 ohms of resistance.

I'm curious to know how other guys ran the power supply to the cb from the battery and the route they used.

Sounds to me like you need new carpet. Take the fabric off the seats and wash them. There is a thread on how to remove the seat skins.

Default help!

Hello, I am new to the forum and cant figure out how to start a new thread. I just replaced the water pump and thermostat in my 2001 Cherokee sport. Now the check engine light is on and I don't have a code reader. Any suggestions?

Default Long trip, now running rough, cruise shuts off.

Did a 700+ mile round trip today. The drive going there was great! The drive coming back not so much. Everytime I stepped on the gas it sounded like half the cyl. were missing and no power, just bogs down, especially uphill. Vac. Leak? Tune-Up? Also cruise control disengages and sometimes doesn't work at all. Again, vac leak? cable?? . I've been dealing with high idle for a while, iacv, tps (twice) replaced vac lines checked. I have a feeling it's all connected...just running out of ideas.
Thanks
