Okay "sounded like" is not good enough to warrant replacing your engine lol. You have to test and verify everything.

My brush guard is pretty much a cosmetic light holder. I'd like to change that, I have tow hooks already, so I'm not looking to pull on it. I'd like to be able to push things with my brush guard (I honestly can't tell you a good reason why). Could I beef up the stock front bumper with angle iron? Kinda like this https://www.cherokeeforum.com/showth...794&styleid=16 I'm strictly just trying to push (not ram) things, not be pulled out by it? How viable would this be?

But I just found out that my heater core has a leak. Any idea on what it takes to replace that so I have an idea of what kind of fun I'm going to have?
One hint, if you change the pump, when you take the pan off, put a small bottle jack between the frame and block to push the axle down that little bit to get the pan off.
Get yourself some Motokote (WalMart) and use it. It will help save whats lift.

Yea I planned on testing it to make sure it's just I've already had the valve cover off and seen the gunk in there and then the low oil pressure and all.

By "gunk" under the valve cover do you mean sludge buildup? Or bubbling between cylinders 3 & 4? A lot of 13-year-old winter beaters have sludge.
Could also mean the rod bearings are worn out along with the oil pump. Drop the pan and change them. Had to do it to mine (90), but also had to do a heart transplant down the road.

You broke it didn't you lol
Beach Bum
I did but the nut stays hidden. The install instructions for no-lift shackle brackets show that nut in a cut open view. Not sure which brand.
