Drain the oil and see what you've got. A little mess under the VC is still within the realm of councidence as the valve cover is exposed to atmospheric moisture. Short city trips don't evaporate it all.

Could also mean the rod bearings are worn out along with the oil pump. Drop the pan and change them. Had to do it to mine (90), but also had to do a heart transplant down the road.
One hint, if you change the pump, when you take the pan off, put a small bottle jack between the frame and block to push the axle down that little bit to get the pan off.
Get yourself some Motokote (WalMart) and use it. It will help save whats lift.

Engine: soon to be 5.3 L vortec
I changed the oil and it looks fine. I've also checked the oil level and checked what it looked like on the dipstick and it checks out fine so for right now I'm ruling out a cracked head. So my next move is going to be get a mechanical gauge to check the oil pressure and fix my heater core

Can someone recommend a brand of OEM equivalent motor mounts for me that aren't trash?
I've read all over that the Omex and DEA mounts are garbage after the 1st year. The only sets that I have seen recommended to others are $100+ heavy duty (browndog, MORE) sets which would be overkill for my 2wd stock height stock tires Cherokee.
I read that NAPA's mounts are good quality, but when I looked them up on the website there were 4 different types between $14.85 and $37.80. This is my first time buying motor mounts for any vehicle.

Well it's either the 1 year motor mounts or the pricier beefier mounts, pick one or the other. There are no other choices, all stores carry the anchor motor mounts.

Brown Dog motor mounts have specific torquing instructions. If you follow the directions, you won't have problems. Their polyurethane mounts DO transfer more vibration to the body, but the website VERY clearly states that in numerous places. If comfort is more important than extreme longevity, get the rubber mounts for a smoother ride.

Got some money to spend this weekend but not sure on which
-35 inch Goodyear kevlars. Currently have two 33 kevlars in the front, one bfg at and cooper disco in the rear
-welder and steel to build rear bumper tire carrier
-long arms and ball joints
-4.56 gears and probably start building a 8.8. I've got a 29 spline 8.25 now though
What do you guys think first?
