building a roof rack and trying to figure out mounting....I saw that someone on here welded tabs to their rack and screwed/bolted them to the aluminum bars on the roof....what is the weight capacity and is that the best way to mount a typical rack?

I'm having what might be a serious problem.. This could be impossible to diagnose with just my poor description of what's happening but I'll try anyway.
For the last two weeks (and no "two weeks" does not mean 6 months) I've noticed a chattering sound coming from the engine. I can hear it when I'm idling and when I'm driving pretty slow. It seems to be consistent and acceleration or nothing that I can do seems to effect the frequency of the chatter, loudness, etc. I popped the engine finally the other day and noticed the crank shaft pulley seems to be wobbly while the jeep is running. Could these be linked in any way?? Does anyone have any more insight? Thank you!

Best way would be to either make or buy gutter mounts like the ones JCROffroad sells
Orrr...i've seen people buy similar to Thule Load Bars/Gutter Mount Bars and weld the rack to those

It is - strap comes off the valve cover bolt on the driver's side rear and attaches to the firewall. Check if it's in good condition and freshen the contact point. Also do this on the ground at the battery.

Will most parts from a 2000 cherokee sport fit in a 1998 cherokee sport? Mainly interior part (console, panels, seats, etc.) And possibly a/c and heating units?

Hello everyone.
i have a 93 jeep cherokee. i lifted it 5.5 inch's and have 31 inch tires. i wouldave done a lower lift but didnt want to cut away for body. my jep is ticking. and i know that is common there is lots of threads about it but i couldnt find any that were like mine. my jeep ticks only when at operating temperature. i took of the exhaust header and welded it cuz it had a crack as most do, and i removed my intake and cleaned all the injected and throttle body and everything, i also removed my valve cover and it was scary!! there was like 1/4 to 3/8 thick of black sludge! so i cleaned and straped it all away with a vacuum was super carful to get none in any valve areas or anywhere it shouldnt be. and the thing still ticks. so is this a mechanical issue? or maybe more sludge but ferther down? something i should pull off a head to fix? ive been doing oil changes every week and running 1 litre of atf in oil. it weems to be improving but i might be just getting used to it. and tips or tricks? any info on why its ticking? i think its cuz the oil gets thinning at operating temp., but im not sure.

I'm wanting to do a 3-4" lift on my 90 Cherokee, but I'm on an incredibly strict budget. I know there is a thread about what parts will fit for certain amounts of lift, but I would like a little more input. I am running on relatively mild tires- 235/75/15 Goodyear Wrangler A/T's.
First, what are the "preferred" springs for a 3-4" lift? Same with shocks (these I will be getting new). Will I need to do anything else like drop the transfer case or install a drop pitman arm for the steering? If anybody has a "shopping list" for a budget 3-4" lift, it would be much appreciated. I can get used parts from a local junkyard dirt cheap, plus I get a hefty discount on new parts through my work. I just would like to know what I need to get for the results I want without repeated trips- since gas is so wonderfully cheap around here...

I'm under $200 for my 3.5" lift so its possible.
t-case drop I don't know my buddy needed one for his '87 with 3.5" and a d44
other friend has a 3.5" d35 no t-case drop and no vibes
I have yet to install my leafs so I don't know yet either
a drop pitman only if you get a drop track bar bracket something about the track bar and steering link needing to be parallel
