I cleaned mine a couple months ago after having issues with low idle and hard starting. Now the hard start is slowly coming back with a kind of low idle 653rpm while in drive at a stop. It should be around 750 right? I'm thinking the IAC is bad and possibly the TPS.

Ok so on a 1989 ax-15, with the internal slave, how do you get the slave out? We have the whole transmission and tc off and we are at the slave, we just can't get the slave off. Thanks in advanced.
Ben and Kay
( ps, not for out jeep, it's a 1989 YJ, but the transmissions should be the same.)

Default Cast or Composite Brake Rotors?

1999 XJ Limited 4.0L AW4...

I attempted to order new hubs this morning and was asked if I had cast or composite rotors. I couldn't remember (nor can I find the receipts) from the last go-round with brake rotor replacement.

Q's: Why does that matter? What's the difference with regard to hub replacement? How can I tell if the brake rotors on my XJ are cast or composite?

It's tough since no two lifts are the same, and they settle over time.

Measure i guess...a definitive way to measure is from the top of axle tube(no steering linkage or anything but the actual tube) to the bottom of the frame rail(again nothing but the frame rail).

stock front: 6 3/4"
stock rear: 6"

Also stock from the center of the hub to the bottom of fender (untrimmed) is 17".

It's because they switched from composite to cast rotors mid year 1999. The only way to tell is to measure your current rotors

Amazing! I can't believe it, Dukie564. All this nuisance over 1/8". Why on earth should that make a difference in hub selection and price?
