radiator flush
Update. I did a few more things and it has now stopped over heating. I am not exactly sure what is causing it to behave. I pressure washed the radiator/condenser, drained and refilled the system a few more times, found that my heater core bypass hose was "kinking" when I close the hood, put a hose clamp on the kink to keep the coolant flowing, found that my electric fan is turning on a little late (225 degrees, gauge shows 230). I put a manual switch on the fan and turn it on whenever I drop below 40mph. The temperature even dropped to 160 cruising at lower speeds which it has never done.
I ordered via rock auto a waterpump,195 stat, theromstat housing, I'll try to get those in next weekend, flushing the system every day still even though it looks pretty clean coming out of the radiator drain.
Could a kinked heater hose cause it to overheat? What sensor do I need to replace for the fan or should I get a aftermarket controller?

I had the same problem with my 89 Cherokee 4.0 automatic. It would get hot at highway speeds I changed my fan clutch and water pump and flushed my radiator out with water several times but it was not until I used Prestone Super Flush. if you read the back it has a ten minute option and a three day option I used the three day option and all of my overheating problems are gone.
I did not believe the crud that came out of my radiator even after flushing it unt il the water came out clear several times before the super flush now I can drive my jeep at any speed and any terrain with no overheating..

Not sure, but I know they have a lot of inventory that isn't listed on the site. Call them and see what they have shelved.
Or go here. Read the descriptions; ignore the pictures:

I need to play with some coil springs and spacers today, would just the lower portion of a set of long arms (like an LCA on each side of front axle) be sufficient enough to set it back on the ground and check ride height?
I'd rather not take the whole suspension on and off repeatedly.

New sound . . .found a hole
Started Jeep the other day and got a new, funky sound similar to putting cards in bike spokes or a straw in a fan. Noise is getting a little more pronounced (seems like it is coming from under my console area). Looking around underneath - I am sooo less than qualified to do so - I noticed a hole located at about 1:00 above the bolt holding a vertical plate just behind my oil pan. Parts diagrams cause me to believe this piece is a torque converter "spacer," and CF research suggests it is aka "inspection cover?" Hole is about the size of a quarter and when I look into it, I see part of a pipe (if that helps). Pic attached. What now? Replace that cover or accept that this could be a sign of other problems? Thanks in advance for any info

If the heater core is clogged on a 2001, am I able to still run the engine without any problems until the fall when I would need to start using the heater. So I can replace it later. Or is it something that absolutely must be replaced immediately?
