He says its probably from the 1" transfer case drop I have on the jeep right now.
I'm going to remove it and maybe drill the mounting holes forwards about 3/8ths of an inch. Tim said this should stop the shifting.
Have y'all ever heard of this? Anything else I should try?
Why would you move the mounting holes? You need to ditch the TC drop and get an SYE

Firstly, does a pdf of the owner's manual for this car exist on the internet somewhere? Second, does a check engine light exist on the 1987 Wagoneer because apparently my dad can't find it? Third, does anybody know what the thing on the ceiling between the visors is? I think that is all of the questions I have right now.

Thanks,

Black dome between the visors? Infrared sensor for keyless entry. No check engine light on the '87. It's before OBD1 came along. PDF, I'm not sure.

I have a RE adjustable track bar on my cherokee that I need to replace the heim joint on. However, there is no way to fit a socket on the top nut, or a wrench. I'm trying to remove it from the bottom with an impact, but it isnt budging. ideas?

Do all power steering hose fitting seize to the tube? I don't want to have to buy new hoses but the ****ers just keep bending. Anyone got a trick up their sleeve?

I don't have a flare nut wrench that size. (Just brake line sizes) but I did what you said for a minute or two. Got pissed. Then bent the ****er til it broke. New hoses for me. I took the other one off at the pump. Maybe it will more cooperative when it's out of the jeep.

For the return line, can I just use a barbed fitting and some tube? Since there's not a lot of pressure?

Could remove the bracket (already missing an important bolt), then reach the inside with a socket. Likely have to remove the coil spring also.

So why can't I find an upper heater hose, (or any heater hose for that matter), for the 4.0 XJ, am I supposed to use a universal, cut to length coolant hose?

Radiator to thermostat? Any parts store. Thermostat to heater core? Auto parts store match the hose size, cut to length pay buy the foot
