Never used em.. For a reason.. Besides the spacer being its own set of issues, 2" added BS is going to wear out your ball joints faster. Looks good though!

No Spark and no error code.

My 99 Cherokee sat outside for a couple of weeks and then refused to start. Pulling a spark plug out I can not see a spark, but I can not get an error code with the usual on-off-on-off -on business. Then for no reason I can identify it started up. That was yesterday. Now today it refuses to start again. I am guessing electrical. Anybody have an idea where to start to check things out? (the motor may be from an earlier model)

Key trick doesn't work on a '99, need to use an OBD-II scanner or reader.

You check fuses yet?

Checked the battery and cables. Maybe just case of like to get a new battery.

Try priming the fuel pump. Try cycling your gears through 1 then to neutral then turn key. All easy things to rule out stuff

I did a visual inspection of the fuse box under the hood, and I do not see any apparent blown fuses, but I am not sure which one runs the ignition. Also, with it working, not working, and now working again, I am suspicious of perhaps a wire harness issue or one of the electrical parts that run the ignition. But alas, I do not really know where to start for checking. (??)

Jeep will not start...

With regard to the battery, the thing was drained for some reason, even though the key was not left on. It took a long time to recharge and appears to be just fine right now. Lots of cranking power.

Loose connections and corrosion Will cause a battery to not charge right. It May be just above the point to start but any extra usage Will bring it below that threshold. Happen to meet with a loose positive cable

I've seen a few posts over the past couple days about similar issues. I'm in that boat myself. FINALLY got it to start today. For no apparent reason, I keep checking over different parts, it cranked the same all day, then it just slowly worked itself to life. Ran well for a bit, then rough idle and no top end with WOT. Got two codes, one for upstream o2 sweeping high and another for multiple cylinder misfire. Joyous.

My 96 xj alternator is externally regulated. I want more amperage and will upgrade to thicker grounds.

1. Do I have to upgrade the wires that connect to it when I get a higher amperage alternator?

2. What are the chances that the higher amperage will damage electronics system? (Since the cpu controls it right?)

Connect what to what? The PCM to alt? No. The rest? Yes

Right on. I googled it and only found one thread on jeep forum and one guy was saying that they don't attach normal, that they're different but didn't explain how.
