You will want to learn how to use a multimeter then because VT Jeep posted all the information you need to troubleshoot the circuit (although for formatting is ****-poor and he should really edit that ****). There's no magic pill, no silver bullet, we aren't in front of your Jeep. You've gotta test it.
I'm curious why I couldn't splice into the wires that go to the Efan. The small pigtail that comes off the fan and connects into another harness that goes to no mans land from there. That little section of wire to the fan should be a ground and power? So why not splice into them and wire it straight to a switch? Obviously I must add a fuse or something from I know but I don't see any issues with it and it should function as normal as it does now but I get full control.

Either you're actually in 4WD (sometimes the linkage is out of adjustment) or the U joints up front are going out. You'll want to put the Jeep up on jack stands and start turning things. Start with just the front axle on stands so both tires are off the ground and rotate the tires by hand.

I know how to use one I just dont have one. And for some reason I really can't comprehend electrical stuff, relays, fuses. Seems waaaay overly complicated for no real reason. Get over here and do it for me!! lol but seriously I put the original relay in and got it to clear the CEL so maybe I got the wrong relay, it looked identical so who knows.

Oh yeah and I read that Oil thread you have, really freaking helpful and I'm glad someone finally did some good in depth research for a good oil for these motors. I've heard the Rotella rumors but you have convinced me lol. No more Castrol ha

no no sorry lol. All I did was replace the relay and the CEL came on and I couldn't get it to go off. Put my old one back in and managed to clear the CEL, but the fan ofcourse still does not work properly (Fan comes on with AC/Defrost intermittently, but does not come at 217F). What I was asking was if it would be possible to splice into the wires that come directly off the Efan and wire them to a switch. Allowing it to function "normally" but still giving me the ability to manually turn it on.
Thank's but I'd hardly consider it in-depth lol. Glad you liked it

Ohhhh. You're sure the replacement relay is good? Yes such a mod has been done, I've seen schematics on here and NAXJA for that. But really I'd focus on getting that fixed first before modifying it, it'd be pretty ****ty to overheat because you were distracted and didn't hit a switch lol.

Has anyone removed the rain gutter trim on a 97-01' xj? I can see the metal clips, is it as easy as simply pushing from the bottom like on pre-96' xjs? Thanks (borrowed picture of a pre 96' trim)
