I think I'm leaking brake fluid. I got some off the ground it was a clear liquid(but my brake fluid is almost black and very dirty) It didn't smell like coolant or taste like oil, or smell like power steering. So my question is can a master cylinder be cleaned out? Would a brake leak cause an abs light to come on? And is it unusual, if i let my jeep sit for hours, the first time i push on the brake pedal, they lock right up? It only is noticeable at low speed and the jeep will jolt to a dead stop. They act normally afterwards

That's very bad
Double-plus bad
Super extra bad
That is not normal...
You really need to figure out what is going on with your brakes before they fail and you or someone else gets injured. Find the leak, fix it, and flush the whole thing.

I'll re-do my whole brake system, new hard lines and soft. Can this be a one man/one day job? this jeep is my daily. Also do i need to take the wheels off for this?

If I were you id replace all of the fluid, and check to make sure your pads, rotors, drums, and shoes were all wearing correctly and have enough life left in them, then reinstall if they are ok and use proper lubricant on the parts that need it.
That all can easily be done in a day.

Yes you need to take the wheels off. I would be surprised if you were able to do it in a day.

I'd say replace one hard+soft line at a time, and getting each one done in a day should be no problem.

3 days? It took me about 3 hours to run all new lines on my YJ, bleed them and drive home. An XJ would take a little more time since its not as open but not a hard job if you have all the parts and tools

Parts? I work at a parts store. Tools? Probably not. Can I afford the tools? Also no
