Any ideas of what a "ticking" or slight "bubbling" sound coming from the battery or just under it somewhere could be? I've somewhat ruled out the rad hoses because the engine has been off for 15-20 hours.
(FYI: I drove it afterwards and now after sitting for an hour or two there is no sound.)

Sofitt vents from Home Depot. Couple bucks each.
Or these from flea-bay; http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-x-Universal-Euro-Style-Black-Air-Intake-Side-Vent-Turbo-Scoop-Hood-SUV-Truck-/161374504262?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2592ab8546&vxp=mtr

Haha yep that's what I was thinking!
On a serious note, could the battery temp sender make this noise? I noticed that when I moved the battery it stopped. It's gone now but I'm still curious as to what it was.

How old is your battery. How does the battery feel to touch when you shut the jeep off. What year jeep again. Do you have access to swapping the batteries out and run another one temporarily

1998 XJ. Battery is a Napa Legend ~4 years old. Never felt it after driving but never seems to get really hot in there and I don't have another battery to swap. hmmmm...

Default Bucket or 40/20/40 seats or what?

Hello,

I need some help with a fairly newbie question

My XJ has seats like the one in the photo attached. I was about to order covers from Wet Okole, but they give me a ton of options for seat shape. I always thought my seats were called "bucket" seats.

Now I see that the Wet Okole site shows the 40/20/40 as the shape that looks most like mine (see other screenshot).

So what's the deal? Which seats does my beloved XJ have? What are they called?
Thank you so much for your time and help.
Alan

1. Where are all the jeep concept vehicles at? I am looking on the internet but cannot find any

2. How similar are the XJ and MJ? literally same parts?

Negative. The battery temp sender is solid state electronics. Just a thermistor. It rides on a sprig so it's mashed into the battery.

I'm with sycoglitch. Might be a good idea to get the battery load tested.

Anyway there's nothing in that area that could make noise under anywhere like normal circumstances. Maybe the vacuum hose under there could crack but... Not likely it'd crack there.

that is all I could find. Judging by this internet hyperlink, it looks like they come through with most concepts.

Default seat problems

My 1997 has powered seats, one morning the seat wont go forward at all, it goes reverse up down, lumbar support works, the works.

When I try going forward, it doesnt make any sound at all, only the switch itself?

Is there a reason It can't go forward, did something go loose, or did it just break, can the motor from a ZJ/ WJ powered seat replace my motor, the reason i'm asking is the junkyards around here in South Florida don't have any powered xj seats

Try different positions when moving it forward. Mine gets stuck all the time and I gotta move it 2 steps forward 1 step back and repeat. My seat rails are of track a bit or one motor is working harder than the other.
