Okay. Fuel system seems good.

What issue are we working on?

It misses at idle, does just fine accelerating and cruising down the highway it's also fine. But at idle it misses. It's not real rough or jumpy. Just enough for me to notice it missing. Moves the whole jeep. If my fuel system is good and my ignition system is good, and all vacuum lines are solid. Then I'm not too sure. New motor also.. New cps, tps, iac, rotor, cap, distributor, wires and champion plugs. Everything is literally new.. Takes longer than my old motor to turn over..

Time for a wiggle test.

At idle start systematically wiggling wire harnesses under the hood. each injector, each plug wire etc etc.

When you put the engine in did you get the ground wires connected to the engine dipstick stud? Clean and shiny, not painted real heavy?

Yeah I got all the grounds hooked up. Nothing was painted so I think the connection should be spot on

alrighty so I wiggled all the injector wires, spark plug wires, ground wires and harnesses and nothing changed. Honestly am I just being paranoid? Is it just the way it sounds at idle? Exhaust maybe? Well that doesn't the long start..

I have a D35 rear axle with the track loc differential and it looks like I need to replace the wheel seals. Yes, I know the D35 is not the best axle, but it is what I have and the seals are cheap. It is just a DD for the moment.

I have read the FSM and looked at the following video
on the replacement. It seems real simple to do.

My question is the following for anyone who has done this with the track loc. Is there something more I need to worry about in taking out the lock pin and the pinion shaft to get the C clips out. Is it any more complicated than with a open differential
