Ok, so I jacked up the front end. yanked on both wheels every which way. There is no play. Any other ideas as to why I am getting this humming?

A bad wheel bearing will not necessarily have play in it (actually, usually won't). The humming is from the bearings being dried out and wearing down. The hub/bearing unit needs to be replaced.

Oh ok, I heard from a search that the wheel will have a little play in it. Checked out the Timken, looked well rated. But can't find it locally. I'll be ordering it online tonight.

Thanks!

get a drift punch or even better an air chisel and hammer the captive nut till it breaks loose from the framerail. Then simply thread a new bolt from the top and bolt the shock back up.

So I have a 95 XJ and I hit someone... Now when I turn my wheel a certain way, it makes a popping noise... Any possible ideas as to what it is?

When you say you turn your wheel a certain way be moe specific. Is it only on sharp turns, wide turns. Could be steering linkage. A u joint. Sounds pike something is loose for sure though

No, I can just have it in park and I can barley move the wheel and it makes a popping noise.

One fast thing you can try is go under your rig and grab ahold of the tie rod and u joints and I forgot it's name but the rod connected from the steering box. Move it around there should be no play. Sounds like something got jammed up when you hit someone.

Probably... My passenger finder is crushed along with my bumper... So you think that might have jammed something?
