How do I attach the 211229x pinion flange to the double cardon. I removed the tc side u-joint on the shaft but can't seat the flangeinto the double cardon because of the small cylinder that the spring sits in.

Thanks 884x4 and ITTs_Cole for the advice.

I may still give replacing the muffler myself a shot but I'm already getting grief from the girlfriend since I just had spinal surgery a few months ago and she's freaked about me sliding under the Jeep on my back to work. (I mean it's not like I'm going to climb under there and try to jack the Jeep up with my feet but she may have a point...)

Thanks again.

Sorry got to ask but then why don't lockers have options for what carrier you have? I figured an aussie, arb or powertrax will fit with any gears say 3.07, 3.73 or 4.56 even if the carrier is changed

I've been told auto lockers don't care about gear ratio, but full case lockers like Detroit are dependant on carrier. I may be wrong, as I haven't personally installed a locker yet

I'm going to say that this is correct for the following reasons:

- The difference between carriers is on account of the thicker ring gears/larger pinions.
- Spider gear sets are universal within a given axle. The internal dimensions don't change.
