I thought there was a recall for like every jeep prior to a certain year? I never looked into it, just heard it from (possibly misinformed) people.

Nope. Some Grand Cherokees only. If you get rid of the hitch, you've just lost a great recovery point........

Okay.
Yeah thats true, but I am getting new bumpers with recovery points at some point. So I'm going to attempt to find a stock skidplate locally, and remove the hitch.

What is the size of the u-clamp that holds the tailpipe up?
The XJ parts catalog doesn't even list a part number for this thing.

also has anyone got an amber 194 led they'd recommend? Im getting clear turn signal lenses so they need to be really bright and really amber..

www. superbrightLEDs.com

I've ordered from them several times. They aren't the cheapest lights, but they aren't that expensive, and the quality is great

Make sure it says "Oversize: No" for whichever one you order

Do what the light says: " Check engine, open the hood and see if the engine is there, close hood, start engine and go" hehehe

My wife had a vaseline-type product under her car from Canada. It stays soft and crap gets stuck to it, also makes a mess of hands or anything else that touches it.
I prefer asphalt based undercoatings.

Ahhh now I know what you guys mean!

The stuff is oil-based undercoating and marketed up here and in the north-east US by Krown and Rust Check. It works great, no snake oil. Unlike asphalt and rubberized it can't and doesn't trap moisture. The largest benefit is that it's sprayed into the frame rails, rockers, pillars, etc. Aside from the floors most XJs rust from the inside-out in those areas. I recommend it to everyone (have had it done on all my other cars - obviously not the XJ lol)

The problem with spraying it directly on the underside of a Jeep is that it can wash off when crossing water. No bueno.

Default Shock Hardware

Does anybody know where I can but hardware for shocks (all around)

I am transferring a lift that I have had for two years and plan on moving the shocks as well. Most of the bolts are crap and I obviously can just get those replaced at any hardware store. My concern is more or less the bushing sleeve (doing the sway bar BPE MOD). I doubt I'll be able to recover those from the old sway bar bushings. Anybody have any Idea where I can get a bushing sleeve/hardware for the shocks?
