I use a pair of pliers wide enough to grab the whole tip without it slipping off. Or needle nose if you're going at it sideways.

Channel locks. Better leverage and long enough to reach in

Sometimes don't end up actually being that tight, so if you can get a long flathead screw driver down there and try to work it off the end. I mean squeezing it is prime, but you could also try pushing it in a twisting motion to try and break it lose.
Also, try soaking it with some pb blaster or Wd40.

I took my radiator hose off and the clamp on the slid right off the end when I pried on it with a screw driver. But it was not in very good condition and I ended up replacing it.

Thinking about getting the GFs XJ a remote starter/keyless entry setup. Does anyone know a decent do it yourself one that doesnt break the bank?

In the same vein, my '94 has the remote start stuff installed ( factory) but didn't have the remote key fob when I bought it.
Any way to get a new sender for the key chain, to match ??

I have been trying to change out the alternator in my Cherokee and the top bolt is siezed in place. I decided I needed to take the whole bracket off to get it out but im not sure on the best way to do it. I took the 2 bolts off that are behind the alternator but it still feels like its bolted in somewhere. How many bolts hold the alternator bracket in and where are they?

No It doesn't. Remote start wasn't a factory option in any xj. Ever.

Possibly a dealer option, or something that was installed shortly after purchase.

Go looking under the hood and dash for identifying stickers.

If you can't single out the components, go to best buy and ask their install guys. They should be able to figure it out pretty quickly.

Mine came with an alarm the PO had installed, but no remote (which proved highly inconvenient when the battery started to die). I pulled the numbers off the components, showed them to the best buy tech, and he was able to order and program my new remotes. I wound up removing the damn thing because it developed a mind of its own a couple months later.
