What kinda stupid brake system is this? I am having issues with it since i bought the rig. Power brakes will just go out then come back. Check antilock brakes light always on. Doesnt appear to have master cylinder rather all this "control" garbage that fails miserably.
What do i have to do to replace it with a good system???

FYI there is a federally mandated lifetime recall on this brake system (repair repeatedly as needed).

For a more permanent and safer fix though i recommend completely scrapping that system, and swapping in a late model vacuum actuated dual-diaphragm booster (ideally out of a 95/96 XJ so you can use your stock rods).
Do some searching for procedures/more info

Loud Squealing Noise?
I think I need to replace my timing belt on my 01 xj because a lot of the time when I first start it there's a loud high pitched squealing noise that can last for up to about 30 seconds--it also can be heard a little quieter at random times. Does this sound like a timing belt issue or is it something else?

Okay my turn! Wheres the cheapest place to buy a Bosch fuel pump assembly for my 98 XJ? I need everything from the pump to the sending unit.

ok, i looked, and couldnt find anything....i have an 01 with a 4.0...can i put in any 4.0, as long as i change the intake, and other sensors, accessories? did the block change from model to model....the local jy is currently out of xj's, but has plenty of 4.0 grand cherokees, i noticed the intake/exhaust, mech fan, and a few other minor things were different

i need the block, i wiped out a connecting rod bearing....the head still seems good, I have a lead on a running 96 motor with 220k, and i was wondering if the head was still the same so i can just bolt on my intake, exhaust, coil packs, ect

head is not the same on a 96. You'll want to re-use your 2001 head, sensors, intake/exhaust etc, and just swap the block. The 1996 head has different exhaust/intake ports, and does not have provisions for attaching the coil pack.

Out of curiosity, I have a np231 and a c8.25 "open" rear diff. Would it be a waste to lock up my rear diff for the sake of extra traction in 2wd on slick, not slick enough for 4wd, roads and occasional towing
