Got a pretty good clunking in the front drivers side. Thought it was caliper but replaced those for other issues. Still clunking. Does it when i brake. If i am in drive then put in reverse then hit brakes-clunk. In reverse then put in drive then brake-clunk. Its getting worse. I was thinking it may be upper control arms maybe?? Any ideas appreciated.

OK I know I know i shouldnt worry about ac in the jeep. But it is black and it gets very humid and i have asthma and my son has a breathing problem sometimes. So please be nice lol. Anyways my air work for like the first 5 min then gets warm. So at first starting it up it blows cold then gradually gets warm. Does it need charged or is there a common problem like? I have search and didnt see anything or maybe I was not searching the rights words. So any help or link is very appreciated. Thanks

Exactly how you see it. It runs from your air filter housing to engine. Oil will come out from time to time even when it's properly closed but yea reconnect it get a whole new piece just keep the breather hose that connect to the filter housing that looks good still. Oh and look in it make sure it's not clogged or anything, god practice.

You don't have the normal braking system in your rig right, you have the bendix system the recalled one? I was thinking maybe your master cylinder but trying to remember if you have one, specially if it's only when you brake.

I had been having problems with it starting up.. so I'd have to hit the gas while turning it over, but I'd have to hold the gas at a steady rpm or it would die out on me. I'd have to push the brake and hold the gas to take it from park to drive (or reverse) and keep driving for a minute with the gas on or it would die on me. I realize now that probably wasn't the best idea to hold the gas and brake down (even just for 2 seconds at a time) at the same time. Last night, I noticed after I had to brake suddenly that there was a popping noise coming from what sounded like the underside of my car. this morning I left for work and it was still doing it but driving fine, then it popped and jerked. a minute or two later my car had this extremely loud grinding sound and my RPM's went up really high.. like 5 and up. So I braked (was going 30 mph uphill) and when I tried to put it in Park it hesitated and it seemed like it wanted to shift itself back into drive. Turned the car off. Put it in neutral and was able to back down the street into a parking lot. I started it up again and it seemed fine, once I pulled off though it popped again so I just left my car parked there. Did I tear up my transmission or could it be something else? Any help is really very much appreciated. Hoping it's not the transmission because I really love my jeep.
Although everyone here is good with jeeps, pm dukie and ask him cause I'm pretty sure he's answered a question like this before and I don't wanna say the wrong thing. Good luck with your rig

Default Open cooling swap question

the previous owner of my jeep did the open swap on my 89 cherokee and he used the HO overflow bottle in the stock HO location and put the coil in the pressure bottle location with and extra long coil wire running to the cap,
I was wondering if anyone had alternative mounting options for the bottle, links and picks would rock

And finally the close-up picture with nothing highlighted shows an obvious broken or dis-lodged part. I feel like it could be an oil sending unit...anyone know? isn't the oil sending unit usually on the side of the engine? I was losing oil when i picked it up, i believe this is where. The oil pressure guage does not work, its an 89 cherokee laredo...is it an electronic guage? Please help

ALso... anyone have a matching wheel for this? (89 cherokee laredo) the previous owner broke the edge of the rim in the snow on a tree...

The first photo highlighted is your "breather" line & connects from the valve cover to your air box. It is part of the vacuum harness. I just replaced my harness last month. It comes in 2 parts, front & rear about $14 bucks each half. I got mine through rock auto.
The second is not a "PCV" which is a common mistake, it is the "CCV". They are very similar in function, but different nonetheless. The CCV is a metered orifice while the PCV uses a spring loaded valve. You can clean the orifice up with carb cleaner or whatever, and use the plastic nozzle on your cleaner to clean out the thin line...

You will be able to notice it, and will need to adjust your driving habits a bit, especially in snow/ice, but it's not bad once you get used to it. [also like to add - be careful who you let drive your jeep with one in]

I recommend a powertrax for your purposes. The detroit is a full case unit (more expensive / requires gear work). The powertrax lockers are "lunchbox" lockers that the you can just drop into the stock carrier in about an hour at home, and are not very noticeable on the street. The "no-slip" and "lock-right" lockers are the same except the "no-slip" is quieter and less noticeable.
